Successful & Permanent FUE & FUT Hair Transplants in Malaysia

Hair Transplant Malaysia is Malaysia’s 1st ABHRS Hair Transplant Specialist Centre from The American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery (ABHRS) with over 20 years of rich experience, knowledge and talent. For starters, Hair Transplants done by Hair Transplant Malaysia uses God given follicles from the patient’s donor area which is located behind the head. There is no foreign introductions to the scalp neither any form of artificiality involved. These follicles are extracted and planted into the areas of hair loss.

Men and women who are looking at a surgical hair transplant have a couple options available to them. Two of the more common options are follicular unit extraction (FUE) and follicular unit transplantation (FUT) procedures. Below are a few of the key differences between the two:

FUE Hair Transplants

An FUE transplant involves taking the patient’s follicles from the donor area and transplanting it to areas of hair loss. The process is repeated until the doctor determines that enough grafts have been transplanted. The process can take a full day to complete and cannot be more than 4,000 grafts in one sitting.

FUT Hair Transplants

With an FUT hair transplant, a surgeon will transplant hair from one part of the scalp to another. Some people are cautious about undergoing the procedure since it involves cutting away a strip of tissue, then grafting it to various spots on the scalp. The doctor must also create holes on the scalp for the transplanted hair.

This method is not recommended for patients who like to keep their hair short due to the scarring. The biggest advantage is that the hair is extracted from a healthy area of the scalp, which means that the recipient will likely avoid any future complications.

When it comes to choosing between the two, FUT hair transplants provide superior results. FUE procedures are equally successful.

The main difference between the two techniques is how the donor hair follicles are extracted for the transplantation. The FUT (follicular unit transplantation) is less common these days, but it still has some applications. It involves a long, thin strip of tissue removed from the back of the scalp, where hairs are the most robust and resistant to balding. The doctor then divides the hair follicles from the donor graft into tiny, single units under a microscope before the transplant. This is the cheapest method, as it can be performed quickly.

The FUE (follicular unit extraction), the doctor uses a special instrument to punch small circular incisions in the skin around a hair follicle and gently extracts it, leaving behind small open holes. These scars take less time to heal and in some instances are almost invisible to the naked eye.
